Today, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced plans for the Asia Pacific (APAC) Domain Name System (DNS) Forum 2023. Organized jointly by ICANN and the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation (HKIRC), the APAC DNS Forum 2023 is slated to take place from 4 July to 5 July 2023 in Hong Kong, China at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The APAC DNS Forum 2023 will bring together regional DNS experts and the broader community to discuss topics such as the digital outlook for the APAC region, cybersecurity, and future of the DNS and emerging technologies. The APAC DNS Forum 2023 will be held as a hybrid event, providing attendees the flexibility to choose whether to attend in person or remotely.
“The APAC DNS Forum 2023 will be an excellent opportunity for our regional community to meet face to face, network, and collaborate together,” said Jia-Rong Low, Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement and Managing Director, of ICANN Asia Pacific.
“We are very honored to host our first physical regional event with ICANN in Hong Kong this year to raise Internet awareness with the regional community. This forum provides a remarkable opportunity to network with industry leaders, experts, and overseas guests; and it affirms Hong Kong’s position as an International Center of Innovation Technology,” said Wilson Wong, Chief Executive Officer, of Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited.
Additional details about the event, including registration and requests for session proposals and sponsorships, will be announced in April 2023.
About ICANN
ICANN’s mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
